Stars in their Eyes - MCS Fundraiser!

The Marian Choral Society would like to invite past and present members and friends of the society to our next fundraising night out, which takes place in the Ard Rí House Hotel on Friday 12th of October.
Doors open at 8pm, the show will commence at 8.30pm. All proceeds will go towards our upcoming Musical Production of “Made In Dagenham”.

It promises to be a very entertaining night with lots of local STARS competing against one another to be crowned the winner!

Our host for the night will be Ronan Lardner from Galway Bay FM, followed by a disco with Ronan afterwards.

Admission is €10 and payable on the night. Tickets can also be purchased prior to the event in Quinn's Bishop Street, Grogan Travel and The Ard Ri House Hotel reception desk. Thank you for your continued support to the Marian Choral Society.

Crazy for You 2017 - the final curtain!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved in our production 'Crazy For You' in any way. We had so much fun over the past 9 weeks and we had an amazing show week!
A massive thank you you to our audience each night, you were fantastic. It was great to see so many past members and friends of the society there - your support is always appreciated!! We hope you loved the show as much as we loved performing it

We are very excited to announce our next Fund Raising night out taking place in the Ard Ri House Hotel on Saturday, 7th October, 2017
Mr & Mrs - Tuam
Based on the entertaining TV show "Mr & Mrs", is your ultimate husband and wife quiz game!
Ten couples "from the Tuam Area" are each separately asked selection of multiple-choice questions by our wonderful host for the night Ronan Lardner from Galway Bay FM , regarding their knowledge of their partner's everyday habits. Meanwhile their other half sits, self-consciously, listening to some "nice" music through some big headphones.
Over the night the couples, through a series of rounds, will be whittled down to one and they will be crowned Mr & MRS 2017.
We will reveal the couples here on Facebook in the run up to the event.
With Ronan Lardner at the end of the mic, this promises to be a great night of laughter and craic!
Tickets are only €10 and are available in Quinn's, Grogan Travel and in The Ard Ri House Hotel

We are so happy and excited to announce our cast list for our upcoming production of 'Crazy For You'. We had such a great turn out at our auditions and the standard was exceptionally high.

AGM 2017

Our annual general meeting was held in the Corralea Court Hotel last Monday 27th of February, with a great attendance.
The outgoing Chairperson, Tara Killilea, thanked the outgoing committee for the support and dedication they have showed her over the past seven years as chairperson.
"Thanks to all the outgoing committee, you have been absolutely superb!" Tara said.

Chess Auditions

Marian Choral Society are holding auditions for their upcoming production of 'CHESS'. Auditions will take place on Sunday, 14th August in the Ard Ri House Hotel from 7pm. Or please send a private message to this page. Whether you are auditioning for a part, or you would like to be in the chorus, you must attend the audition night to meet the team. AIMS Nominations 2016

We have 3 AIMS nominations for The Pirate Queen. They are for Best House Management, Best supporting Actor James Conway, and best male Singer Dave Langan. Congratulations MCS on another fantastic show.
AIMS awards ceremony will take place in Killarney on Saturday 18th June.

AGM

Thanks to everyone who came to our AGM last Friday night. We were delighted to see familiar and new faces. Officially that's the end of 2015 season and 'The Pirate Queen' has sailed. Thank you to everyone who was involved in any way throughout the year and for the show. 2016 is a very exciting year for MCS, we are looking forward to it and all the celebrations.

AIMS AWARDS WEEKEND

As we start the weekend with AIMS we would like to say the very best of luck to Suzanne Garvey-Brennan who has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role of Velma in our production of 'Hairspray'. Wishing all our members travelling down to Killarney a safe trip & a fantastic weekend.

Also, the best of luck to Shane Farrell our MD who is nominated for Best MD with Castlerea MS & to all our friends from neighbouring societies, Loughrea, Ballinasloe, 9 Arch, Ballinrobe & Claremorris and to all our friends in societies around the country. We'll be cheering ye on.

Recently we announced our 2015 show - 'THE PIRATE QUEEN'.
From the creators of Les Miserables and Miss Saigon, 'The Pirate Queen' tells the story of the scariest woman ever to the sail the Irish Sea, Grace (Gráinne) O'Malley. We are extremely excited about this production. We will be holding auditions on Monday 25th & Tuesday 26th of May.
